Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona

To all AZ firefighters and your families, the invitation below comes to us from a new local restaurant, Federal American Grill:

Federal American Grill would love to invite first responders and their plus ones to an invite only pre-opening event on Monday Jan. 16 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.! The new restaurant would like to say thanks with shareable apps and excellent service.

Federal American Grill, a new concept to Arizona, focused on excellent made from scratch food, community involvement and genuine hospitality, will open in the Scottsdale 101 shopping center (7000 E Mayo Blvd ) in January with a brunch, lunch and dinner menu as well as a private whiskey selection.

We would love for you to enjoy a sampling of the menu and connect with local first responders. There will also be a cash bar with the opportunity to purchase alcoholic drinks. No reservation is needed. Please feel free to come and go from 5:30- 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 16.

Had an amazing gathering with Daisy Mountain. Labor and Management held their RBO process and worked on a lot of great business together. Great job to the Local and Department and thanks for the hospitality.

Today is Election Day.

Regardless of the final result on Proposition 310, our campaign left it all on the field. Our thanks to one and all for a truly statewide effort that connected with hundreds of thousands of Arizona voters.

We stand grateful to every fire fighter and paramedic who pounded a sign or chatted with a voter.

Every chief who spoke out about the mission-critical need for more resources, more personnel, more vehicles and more training.

Every citizen who stood up for public safety in Arizona's 144 fire districts.

And every fire service leader who worked for years to get this measure on the ballot in a bipartisan effort of elected leaders and the profession.

We are hopeful. We are determined. And we are very proud.

Recently, Engine 522, Medic 522, and Battalion 521 of the Eloy Fire District responded to an ATV accident near Casa Grande Mountain. One patient was flown to a level-one trauma center for life-threatening injuries. The accident is still being investigated.

Today The Fire District Rescue Act SCR 1049 passed 8-1 out of the LARA(Land, Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee). While we have much work to do, this was a great win today. Thank you to our legislative team and all of the Fire family who came down to help. This is a top priority, we must save our Fire Districts.

We hope one and all will join us for the 2022 PFFA Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial. This is a wonderful tribute to our state's Fallen Fire Fighters and their families.

The ceremony will be held on Sunday, January 16th, 2022 beginning at 10 am at the Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza located at 1700 W. Washington St., Phoenix, AZ 85007.

Occupational cancer is now the leading cause of death for fire fighters and EMS personnel. On December 2, the American Cancer Society and the IAFF will announce an historic, long-term collaboration to help fire fighters and emergency medical service (EMS) personnel with cancer detection, treatment, prevention, and patient support. Stay tuned.

Great news.....a bill backed by the PFFA to allow four year community college fire science and other degrees just passed and is in its way to the Governor.

INCREDIBLE NEWS!! Governor Ducey signed our cancer bill S1451 today. This goes a long way to protect our brothers and sisters. Thank you!!!!!
